Back in November 2020 the Chief Dental Officer advised dental practices that "You should be assured that I fully recognise the position that a return to pre-COVID levels of patient volume will not be achievable under the current health protection measures. I am aware that it will still be necessary for you to prioritise appointments for patients requiring urgent dental care, those at greatest risk of oral disease and the backlog of patients from during the ‘lockdown’. This is not business as usual"
We have been following this guidance.
To keep everyone safe, and to facilitate social distancing for you and our staff, we are working normal surgery hours but still with only a limited number of surgeries/dentists operating at any one time. We also have to leave the surgery empty, for at least half an hour, after some appointments.
In a nutshell, this means that we cannot see the usual numbers of patients. This has meant that we have not been able to reschedule routine examinations as quickly as you or I would want.
Please remember that we are all still in the midst of a pandemic. My over-arching priority will continue to be the safety of all of you and my staff. By maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and infection control we can reduce the risk of COVID-19 together.
As always, we are trying to do all we can to help you receive your care as safely and quickly as possible.
PLEASE DO NOT JUST TURN UP FOR AN APPOINTMENT AS THE DOOR WILL BE LOCKED. YOU MUST PHONE IN ADVANCE TO BE TRIAGED. If you are having any problems, contact us on 0141-889 2016 and we are ready to help.
Please share this information with anybody else that attends the practice.
